Just do it...

Sometimes we just feel like giving up on doing certain things. Doing those things sorta mean you gotta sacrifice a huge chunk of your personal needs and desires. I often wonder if it's worth it for me to go through all these cause it's not like if I don't do it i'll be in a "come on, do it! it's for your own good! it won't hlp anyone but you!" position.

Yet God constantly encourages me to do it without looking back. It seems like I'm putting myself in an impossible position. It's easier to say all things are possible and claim all the promises of God when you're in an impossible position that you didn't choose to assume. You're forced by circumstances to turn to God. But when you know you're moving into an impossible position out of your own choice and obedience to God.. you kinda sit back and ponder upon whether you're being silly.

That's how I feel, I ask myself whether I'm silly for doing things I do not need to do. God reminds me again and again to not stop doing it, I don't know why.. Many times I feel short-changed, to do those things that nobody else wants to do and I don't see the reason why I should be the one doing it. Why should I be the one losing out on things while others gain much?

There are certain things in our lives that we can choose to ignore and move on in life.. but there are many other difficulties that are there for us to overcome and not run away from. I continue on not bcos I love doing it, but as an act of obedience. I guess it opens up a door for God to grant me strength thru His grace, and my role is to welcome it and face it without reservation. It becomes an opportunity for God to be God, the miraculous wonder working God.

Romans 5:1-5 (The Message)

1 By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us--set us right with him, make us fit for him--we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus.

2 And that's not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand--out in the wide open spaces of God's grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise.

3 There's more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we're hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us,

4 and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next.

5 In alert expectancy such as this, we're never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary--we can't round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!

Lord, I don't know why things are the way they are. I feel like giving up cos I don't see how I'm gonna enjoy doing those things. But Lord joy is not a feeling, joy is a choice to focus on a God whose very being is love, and actions are anchored by love. And hlp me to continue making this choice, so that this choice will invoke joy, and joy will be my strength to carry on. I will run this track, and You will not only be my crutch, but also my coach, my fellow runner, my pacer, my fan cheering from the stands, my goal. Thank You.

Thinking positive isn't ignoring the fact that you are in a messy situation. Being positive is focusing on the answer to that situation, on the One that brings hope.
