Thoughts on my mind...
There are times of fun.. and things of fun..
and there are times of seriousness.. and things of seriousness..
The challenge lies is filtering what is serious out of what we think is fun,
and filtering what is fun out of what should be serious.
When they are in the proper shelves, you'll know without a doubt that they belong where they are.

Godly counsel
God is more interested in who we are, our character and our well being as a person than where we are and what ministry we serve in. When we seek the will of God for direction we'll often find that He will place before us things that will shape us, and through that time of shaping bless others as well.
Realised the importance of seeking godly counsel.
Psalm 1:1-3 ~
1 Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.
Prov 12:15 ~
The way of a fool seems right to him,
but a wise man listens to advice.
In my many times of trouble, those that encouraged me the most were those that gave me godly counsel. Yes, words of comfort do help momentarily but it was those who gave me God's Word to cling on to that helped me lay a strong foundation of God in my life. The moments when we are crushed are the best moments to build a new foundations based on His Word. I soon realised those foundations have provided me rock solid ground to live a life set apart for God. The ppl that shared with me His precepts were those that didn't want me to mess up my destiny.
It is very important to have the right ppl to turn to when we have a broken spirit. Seek a pastor or a mature Christian, one that can guide you and can see things through God's eyes. Place a foundation that doesn't have God in it when you're hurting and you'll be building your life on it.. and many wonder why they feel far away from God as that life goes on.
Uni students that are reading this, pay quick attention. I am not kidding when I say you need to put God as your top priority when you make decisions, especially when you graduate. Seek God for what He wants. It is so easy to tell God, "Lord this is what I want, bless it.. You will bless because You have promised to never leave me nor forsake me." READ THIS - The promises of God is invalid when we do not embrace the call of God upon our lives, to be like Him, to know Him, and to die to self. There are heaps of promises that God has given to us, we learn it at OCF, at church, thru frens, etc... but we need to be in the right position to receive the gift from the Giver. You will often find a clear difference between what you want and what God wants. Go for what He wants, and don't settle for anything less. Everyone of us is called by God, and there are good works that God has singlehandedly crafted out for you.
I remember reading about how God divided the sheeps from the goats. That really drove something into my heart. We can know truly who is a Christian and who is not. A Christian is not one that professes only his faith with his mouth, but is professed through his life. Especially those that are brought up in a Christian family - having Christian influences don't make you a Christian. Saying the right Christian things at cell group discussions don't make you a Christian. Just because your parents are praying for you and you seek them for advice don't make you a Christian. Only you and God know whether you truly are a Christian.
It's difficult to have the same amount of time to commit to God in serving when you start working.. but God did not call us primarily to be committed in serving, He plainly wants us to be committed to Him. Reckless abandoning of self. Decision making based on His Word. Attitudes and character moulded by His Word. That is far more important than having time to serve in church.
Well, if you read this far and sian oredi.. the bottomline is.. put God as your everything in life... don't just receive salvation and live a mediocre life.. that is just pathetic.
